Peoples of the Kiskiack at Poquoson Public Library (Poquoson)

November 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Once a thriving and populous intertwined group of villages spread throughout today’s York and Matthews Counties, the Kiskiack fished, hunted, and crafted for hundreds of years along the banks of the York River and its tributaries. Join Chief Charles Bowman of the Kiskiack Tribe of Eastern Virginia in a conversation about the origins of his people, their history, and their future as they seek state and federal recognition.
