ECX Foundation Announces “Ghostly Golf Ghouls” Halloween Charity Golf Tournament
Halloween golf event at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course will feature cash prizes, costumes, family activities and charitable giving
PORTSMOUTH, VA — The ECX East Coast Music & Technology Foundation will bring golf, Halloween and community giving together for the “Ghostly Golf Ghouls Halloween Charity Golf Tournament”, taking place Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth, Virginia**, with a 2:00 p.m. shotgun start.
Designed as more than a traditional golf tournament, Ghostly Golf Ghouls will turn the golf course into a Halloween-themed community celebration where golfers, families, businesses and young people can enjoy an afternoon of competition, costumes, prizes and spooky fun while supporting a charitable cause.
The tournament will feature thousands of dollars in cash prizes and special competitions, including:
$1,000 Top Individual Golfer Prize
$1,000 Top Foursome Prize
$250 Top Teen Golfer Prize
$250 Top Youth Golfer Prize
$100 Pumpkin Putt Challenge
$100 Zombie Long Drive Challenge
$100 Best Costume Prize
Opportunity to **win a new golf driver
Halloween contests, raffles and giveaways
A special “Thriller” flash dance event
Candy and Halloween activities for children
Golfers are encouraged to compete in costume, and businesses and community organizations are invited to participate as sponsors.
“This isn’t just about playing 18 holes of golf,” said Anthony Brown of the ECX Foundation. “We wanted to create something Portsmouth and the entire Hampton Roads community could have fun with—an event where serious golfers can compete for real prizes, kids and families can enjoy Halloween, businesses can get involved, and at the end of the day we are raising money to support a charitable mission.”
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the ECX East Coast Music & Technology Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to expanding educational opportunities, technology access, workforce development and STEAM learning opportunities for students and underserved communities.
The Foundation is also seeking corporate sponsors, local businesses, golf-industry partners and in-kind donors interested in contributing merchandise, prizes, equipment, gift certificates or financial support.
Ghostly Golf Ghouls is intended to become a signature Halloween event for Portsmouth—combining sports, entertainment, community engagement and philanthropy in a creative new format.
