ERT Peace Park Celebration (Norfolk)
September 22 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Please join the ERT team, the Rotary Club of Hampton Roads, and the local community as we cut the ribbon on the newest installed piece of urban sanctuary along the trail: the ERT Peace Park.
As a way to power up the energy of community and bring life to the new space, each attendee is encouraged to bring at least one (1) non-perishable item for our Community Needs Pantry located at the space.
Parking is available along the roads of Brown Avenue and Clay Avenue, adjacent to the St. James Church. We always strongly encourage walking, running, biking, or rolling down the Elizabeth River Trail whenever possible.

The newest focal point of this space is the Peace Pole and adjacent gardens. Installed by the Rotary Club members and volunteers thanks to a grant from the Rotary Club of Hampton Roads, the Peace Pole is Intended to inspire unity among all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Along with a braille inscription, the words, “May Peace Prevail on Earth,” are written and displayed in the languages spoken in the eight languages of the Sister Cities of Norfolk.
Amenities and features of the ERT Peace Park include:
A Community needs pantry. A Little Free Library. A garden arbor bench. Raised garden beds for urban agriculture. Edible fruit vines and fruit trees. Newly planted, native Virginia plants. Rain barrels to water the gardens naturally.
A place to sit. A place to read. A place to connect & gather.
A place to escape and find some peace.
