Bells Across America (Williamsburg)

Bells Across America is an annual event honoring the signing of the U.S. Constitution. On September 17, 2026, at 4 PM-the moment the Constitution was signed in 1787-bells will ring nationwide to mark the 239th anniversary and recall the joyful peals heard in Philadelphia on that historic day.
The Williamsburg Chapter, NSDAR, invites you to take part in this patriotic tradition by ringing the bell at The Historic First Baptist Church or the Christopher Wren Building on the William & Mary campus. At Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, the bell will toll 13 times in honor of the original 13 colonies.
