Shobou Con at Chesapeake Public Library

This event looks like so much fun!

Shobou Con, the annual mini-con is back at Chesapeake Public Library! Get ready for a costume contest, Karaoke, Lego Builds, learn to play Pokemon, a Cat Café Sensory Room, and more. This event includes panels, cosplay, activities, vendors, and more.

Where: Chesapeake Public Library 298 Cedar Road, Chesapeake VA

Cost: Free and open to the public

Description:  Find manga recommendations at our Manga 101 panel. Transform at our Magical Girl Wand craft. Debate with fellow nerds at our Live Action Adaptations panel. Create your own Friendly Fire Spirit felt craft. Test your skills at our Lego blind build. Showcase your hard work at our Cosplay Contest. Be entertained by the Volare Idols.

Love art? Mike Lane from the Sumi-e Society of America Inc. will demonstrate sumi-e art and teach on its history and techniques. Ever wondered about the art of quilling? Mattie Wills of Imperfectionzart will show how curled paper can be made into fantastic pieces of art and teach you how to make a dust sprite (registration required).

Need a quiet place away from all the con noise? Head upstairs to Conference Room B for our Cat Café Sensory Room. Hungry? Head outside to take advantage of the food trucks!
