Part Time Job Opportunity from NBG!

Thought this might be a great opportunity for some Mamas with school aged children!!! Our friends at Norfolk Botanical Garden are hiring seasonally for garden guides and especially need help weekday mornings. Make sure you let them know we sent you! The job description as given by NBG is:

Description: This is a term position that performs front line visitor services functions.

Essential Functions: Conduct garden tours and programs for the general public, sell tour tickets and relay general visitor information.

Education and Experience: Requires excellent oral, written and customer service skills. Must be creative and able to work independently. Must enjoy working with people and possess the ability to speak to large groups. Weekend and evening work required.

Other Requirements: Must be 18 or older with valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct tram and boat tours.
2. Sell boat tickets.
3. Implement daily visitor programs (walking tours, smart carts, etc.) in conjunction with public program coordinator.
4. Greet visitors, help orient visitors and answer questions.
5. Provide information to visitors in informal situations in the garden.
6. Assist with special event tour related activities.
7. Will work evenings for Garden of Lights as assigned.
8. Other duties as assigned.
