Description:  “Gear Up For School” with $7.57 reduced admission that includes access to the museum, Battleship Wisconsin, and STEM and drone-themed programming! Guests will also have the chance to pilot a drone through an interactive obstacle course, as part of the traveling exhibit, Drones: Is The Sky The Limit? Visitors can refuel their brains in our front loop with La Cucina di Sophia.

Gear up with activities like:

• Growing Green: Educators will teach visitors about the stress systems on food production and how to live sustainably through gardening.
• AUV vs. ROV: Guests will compare and contrast autonomous underwater vehicles to remotely operated vehicles. Then, they’ll design and navigate a ROV through underwater obstacles.
• Planes and Weathervanes: How many times a day do you see or hear an airplane? Visitors will understand how weather affects flight patterns, and to how to track the different types of planes while they are in the sky.
• Pioneer RPV: The Battleship Wisconsin had her own drone during wartime. Guests will observe a 3D printing of the Pioneer, the remotely piloted vehicles used on the Iowa class battleships.
• Slippery Situations: What are the causes and effects of oil spills? Guests will test different methods of cleaning spills through an interactive oil spill activity.
