Reminder: 2025 National Lighthouse Day – Cape Henry Lighthouse

What a great way for the entire family to get their steps in!

Where: Cape Henry Lighthouse, 583 Atlantic Ave, Fort Story, VA 23459

When: Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 10am – 5pm

Pricing: This event is free, family friendly, and open to the public.

Description: Join us in celebrating National Lighthouse Day at Cape Henry Lighthouse! Both the Old and New Cape Henry Lighthouses will be open to climb, a once a year opportunity!

There will be crafts and activities for the little ones and the whole family can learn about maritime life from local museums. The Marine Canteen food truck and local vendors will be onsite. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

This event is free, family friendly, and open to the public.

Lighthouse Day Cape Henry LIghthouse

*Both Cape Henry Lighthouses are situated on an active military base, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.A shuttle system allows visitors to travel from the base security gate to the location of the lighthouses.*

Note: You do not need a military ID to access the Cape Henry Lighthouse, but guests over the age of 16 must present a valid REAL ID.  Read more about accessing the Cape Henry Lighthouse here.
