Let’s Talk: A Mother & Daughter Tea

A great mom-and-daughter event sparked by local children’s author Ruth O’Bryant and her book, Beautiful Little Black Girl.

Where: Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch at Broad Creek 1425 Norchester Ave. Norfolk, Virginia 23502
When:  Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 1:30-4pm.
Description: Come to the library to see Ruth O’Bryant read and talk about her book, Beautiful Little Black Girl. Girls ages 8-12 will receive a special tiara, and decorate a mirror to show their appreciation of their appearance.  Then we will learn about teas, and girls and their mothers or caregivers can enjoy a cup of tea with some light refreshments.  Girls will be able to take a picture at the photo booth.  All will come together at the end to talk about what they learned from the experience.

Attendees are invited to bring their tutus.  The library will provide teacups, but attendees are invited to bring their own if they wish.
