Another great presentation in honor of Black History Month in Hampton Roads! The Children’s Theater of Hampton Roads presents “Let My People Go: A Journey of the Underground Railroad” at the Birdsong Theater in Suffolk.

When: Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11am

Where: Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts 110 Finney Avenue, Suffolk, VA 23434

Price: Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door or online.

Description: The characters in “Let My People Go” are based on actual people who lived in the Hampton Roads area. Our main character ‘Caroline’ is a young girl from Portsmouth, fleeing the South with the help of a friendly bird and a conductor who lives on the Elizabeth River. The story follows her inspiring journey from Virginia to the North, and is steeped in local history. Powerful, poignant, and at times comical, Caroline’s story is one that will touch any mind and heart, young or old.
