OPEN HOUSE: Planned for August 2025 – TBA. This program is accepting applications and will have an open house late in the summer, before kicking off the start of fall programming.
When: The Junior Rescue Squad’s regular meetings take place twice a month during the school year (September – June).
Where: Virginia Beach EMS Headquarters, 4160 Va Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach (next to the Central Library)
Cost: Free
Description: Junior rescue is for teens ages 13-18. Participants are taught by EMS at a local EMS Station, real emergency medical services skills which are used daily on calls.
Be a part of the Junior Rescue Squad of Virginia Beach. Students from around Hampton Roads are introduced to the exciting world of emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. Experience the life of an EMT firsthand, learn first aid and life savings skills while building your self-confidence, and develop leadership and social skills through unique career experiences and volunteer service opportunities. Training is provided throughout the school year on a variety of topics.
