Hampton History Museum: 5th Annual Build The City Event

Build The City Event Hampton Virginia

Hampton History Museum is back with another great line-up of FREE Family Fun for their 5th Annual Build the City event!

Where: Hampton Roads Convention Center 1610 Coliseum Dr, Hampton, VA 23666

When: Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 10am-2pm

Cost: FREE!

Description: Try your hand at construction at the 5th Annual “Build the City” event, this year taking place indoors at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. This family-friendly event will engage children and adults, inspired by photos of the Hampton buildings, to construct a large-scale model of Hampton, using boxes, other recyclables, construction paper, chalk, and paint. Volunteers and staff are on-hand to teach the “building blocks” of architecture and those influences that shaped our landscape as well as the science and engineering behind building our City’s structures.

Recycle Your Holiday Boxes to Build the City!
Hampton History Museum is accepting your donations of shipping and gift boxes and other recyclables to make buildings, bridges, highways and other structures. Please drop materials off at the Hampton History Museum, 120 Old Hampton Lane, and leave them under our covered portico, or bring them to Air Power Park at 413 West Mercury Boulevard between 8:30 am-4 pm.
