Guest Post: Toilet Paper Roll Art Projects

Art Teacher 2 Go - Hampton Roads VA

Camille Donne of Art Teacher 2 Go and Peninsula Fine Arts Center has a timely craft idea for you!

Many of you have used-up toilet paper rolls, construction paper and markers around the house and that is all you need to create all sorts of characters (and a little secret gift holder, too).

Check out the basic instructions below and share your creations with us on our Facebook Page or in our Facebook Group!

Step One: Fold down one side of the top of a cardboard toilet paper roll

Step Two: Fold down the other side of the top of the roll so that it overlaps the first side. Leave the bottom as it is, so it will stand up easily for display.

Step Three: Decorate! Use the markers and construction paper listed above, or any fabric or additional art materials you have around the house to make your characters.

The following materials are terrific for the project: scissors, glue, tape, markers or crayons, construction paper, paper clips, rubber bands, pom poms, googly eyes, felt, ribbon and anything else you have handy. See examples below:
