Parenting Class For Families With Children Ages 5-12

An upcoming parenting class – Active Parenting – A Parent’s Guide to Raising Happy and Successful Children -is being offered for families with children ages 5-12yrs. This class takes place in person, and the first-class meets Friday, January 27, 2023.

When:  Class sessions begin on January 31st, and again on March 20, 2024 and meet Wednesdays from 1-3pm

Cost: $5 per class, waivers may be available for financial hardship (registration is required)

Description: An exciting six-week, research-based video-and-discussion parenting class, called “Active Parenting — A Parent’s Guide to Raising Happy and Successful Children.” This parenting class is organized around the parenting skills necessary for instilling cooperation, communication, courage, school success, responsibility and self-esteem in children. Parents will learn nonviolent discipline skills that really work and how they can set rules that their children can understand and follow. We will explore the goals of behavior and discover how the power of encouragement helps children learn positive behavior. Parents will learn the importance of taking care of themselves as well as their child.
