Free Admission to Hampton History Museum for Military

A nice local offer for military families!
The Hampton History Museum is offering free admission to active duty and retired military and their families – as well as half-price membership to the museum – during April 2013.
This will allow military families to take advantage of upcoming events such as:
- 2nd Saturday Family Day on April 13, 2013
- Lunch in Time series looking at local landmark Hop’s Place
- Front Porch Music Series on April 17, 2013
Exhibit Description: Through artifacts and with interactive components, this engaging exhibition explores the impact of the war on civilian life by posing a series of questions for you to explore.
- Were Unionists the patriots or the traitors?
- How did some slaves support the Confederacy?
- Why did western counties break away to form West Virginia?
- How did civilians suffer?
- What exactly was Lincoln’s role as “The Great Emancipator” and how did some slaves win freedom?
For information on these and other museum events visit www.hamptonhistorymuseum.org or call (757) 727-1610.
