Since 1981, the Foodbank, a member of Feeding America™ and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore.
In our mission to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our community, the Foodbank has distributed over 272 million pounds of food equating to over 226.8 million meals throughout our 4,745 square mile service area, which includes the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and Virginia Beach as well as the counties of Southampton, Northampton, Sussex, Isle of Wight and Accomack.
Established in 1986, Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has been the leading hunger relief organization across the greater Peninsula serving the 1 in 7 Virginians who experience the daily hardships of food insecurity. Food banks provide healthy food to individuals, children, families, seniors and veterans who otherwise might go without.
Virginia Peninsula Foodbank serves families in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, James City, Mathews, Surry and York.

Coparenting assistance and education for both parents and organizations. Support Groups, documentation assistance, parenting plans, workshops and coparenting coaching available. Focusing on minimizing child and family trauma, high conflict coparenting, and navigation of coparenting.
For The Youth - local nonprofit committed to empowering young people and enriching our community through education and support. Through a variety of seminars, classes, and community events, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of both adults and youth. Afterschool and summer camp programs available.
Education for All Ages: From business seminars to youth workshops, we offer a range of educational programs tailored to different age groups and interests.
Community Feeding Programs: Each year, we host our annual "Feed the People" event, where we come together to provide nourishment and support to those in need within our community.
Youth Empowerment: Our ultimate goal is to offer our youth programs to our low-income community members at no cost or low cost, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of their growth and development.

A child led, parent facilitated, forest exploration group. We will occasionally have activities the kids can learn from as they're interested but we defer to the children's lead believing that a child's play is their best work. (Facebook Group)

Be it space battles in the far future, modern tactical operations with a small team, or even fantasy adventures through dungeons, the pride of a ready-to-play miniature or army really can't be beat. Our team of founders is familiar with the joy of the hobby and wants to do everything we can to provide you with the space to flourish in the tabletop space we all love.
ForKids works to support families and children experiencing homelessness in Hampton Roads.
Housing Services include emergency housing, rapid rehousing, supportive housing, and support to Veterans Families. Families experiencing a housing crisis can call the ForKids hotline at (757) 587-4202.
Families receiving housing services may also receive housing-focused case management, life skills training, job coaching, mental health services, and children's education programming. Children experiencing homelessness may receive education support such as customized instruction, mentoring, advocacy, afterschool tutoring, summer educational programs. Families at ForKids may receive support with housing placement, job coaching, mental health coordination, and case management.
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs at Fort Eustis include programs for all ages. Programs for children (offered seasonally) include dance, youth sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, cheerleading, fun runs, and robotics. Summer camps available.

Kayaks and Paddleboats are available to rent, either by the hour or for the full day of operation.
Seasonal experience in October. Ghost Walk at Fort Monroe, Where History Meets Mystery. Explore buildings, structures, and the real life history of some of Fort Monroe’s lesser known people as we share with you some recently discovered real life stories and of course some of our traditional haunting tales!

For at least 400 years, the point of land known as Old Point Comfort that now includes Fort Monroe has served as the key defensive site at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.
Due to its historical and cultural significance, Fort Monroe was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966 and recognized as the Fort Monroe National Monument through an executive order signed by President Barack Obama in 2011.
