Ambleside Cooperative of Hampton Roads is a unique homeschooling experience in Virginia Beach. A community of Christian homeschool families guided by the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education. Ambleside Cooperative can be described as a "Cottage" school, much like a one-room school house of yesteryear, with curriculum designed for mixed ages. ASKhc is an unregistered not-for-profit organization that works together to afford homeschooling resources through sharing school accounts, classrooms, & organizing discount group purchases. All ASKhc's services are provided free to support the homeschool community.

We are a home school group located in Chesapeake, VA! The main goal of our group is for organizing social activities for our homeschoolers and as an opportunity to make new friends!
Our group invites homeschool families of all ages to meet on weekends for mostly outdoor casual play dates. Rotating parks or playgrounds with times will be announced weekly. No RSVP required. All playdates will be in the city of Chesapeake.

This group is different than other homeschooling groups in that we don't actually discuss homeschooling on the page, including academics, workshops, curriculum, etc. - that can be done in other groups. This is where we take a minute to breathe, and focus on Jesus and fun events only.

Membership in the group will require attendance at our weekly meeting, participation at planned events, and following through on responsibilities. Adult leadership and support are 100% provided.
Homeschool group for parents with children on the spectrum
This group serves as a safe space for LGBTQ+ homeschoolers, be they students, or parents, and their allies. We provide social interaction virtually and in person (when Covid responsible).
We hope to create a list of LGBTQ+ affirming co-ops, online classes, museums and. more.
