Our voluntary summer camps for Portsmouth Public Schools are offered at no charge to parents with a minimal registration fee. Parents will need to provide transportation to and from camp as well as lunch daily. Totally funded by STARBASE, each summer camp runs for four consecutive days and includes an exciting field trip. Camps are developed as an expansion of the school year program so that students will continue their engagement in STEM education.

The Trailblazers Track Club is a Youth Sports Team serving the Hampton Roads area. We are a diverse track team starting its 18th year of competition. Our team averages 85 athletes a year between the ages of 6-18 years old. The Trailblazers are affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) supporting competition in local, regional and national meets.

Youth Leadership Development is a mentoring, empowerment, and interactive program for families intended to increase graduation rates and increase parental involvement. This program includes school visits by the facilitator, Dr. M. Julius Hayes. It additionally seeks to decrease criminal behavior by re-directing families to more constructive community programs. Parents must register their children for this program to attend with them.
