Very interesting older house in the Tudor half timbered style with a number of interesting Asian antiques. There is also an interesting garden and walks along the river and the forested grounds.
I was here for a wedding and the venue was gorgeous! I highly recommend it for this purpose. I enjoyed the outdoor areas, views, and wide variety of plants. I hope to return as a regular visitor someday.
An awesome museum in a beautiful location. It's hard to believe that admission is free. The grounds alone are worth a visit but the house is stunning with endless details. We came to see the Burden of the Beast art exhibit and it didn't disappoint.
This place is gorgeous! The inside of the home is the depiction of an elegance we don’t see anymore. All the intricate wood carvings on the doors walls and ceiling were truly captivating. The acres of surrounding gardens are just as gorgeous and immaculately kept. My friends and I had so much fun exploring the house, gardens and various art installations. We were also able to take some pretty cute pictures!
We had our small 10 person wedding here in the East Garden at the end of June and it was beautiful! Not only do they have a deal for their elopement package, but Heather Lindsay and her assistant Alexis were incredible to work with. Alexis even helped tie my shoe before I walked down the isle and kept me calm before the ceremony. Thank you Hermitage! We will keep coming back. This museum is a delight, and a surprise! Much more than I expected in so many ways. The beauty of the grounds are awesome. The museum is on the river so it is lovely. There are gardens, but we didn't see anything in bloom. Inside the art collection is amazing. If you like Asian art, then you will love this museum because there is a lot of Asian art pieces among other art as well. There was a huge sculpture on exhibit (traveling) which is definitely worth seeing. They keep the museum and grounds immaculate. The staff are knowledgeable, and friendly. The Hermitage Museum and Gardens is a hidden gem, and we will return when the weather is cooler.

We filmed Sam & Jardel's wedding at The Hermitage recently and, although it wasn't our first time filming there, it was probably the most fun we have ever had. We can't recommend it enough to potential future couples! If you're on the fence, we say, go for it! The venue coordinators are extremely nice, professional and so helpful. One of the most overlooked and undersold things about The Hermitage for couples getting married there is the garden surrounding the grounds, that make for such a majestic environment for photography and videography. We rank this as one of our favorite venues in Hampton Roads to film in and highly recommend it to everybody we meet that are still searching for the right venue for them.

A nice little museum placed in the beautiful setting . Trails, interesting views of the port. Free to visit. An interesting art collection, but it is somewhat chaotic , almost randomly placed in the cabinets and underrepresented (in a sense, that very little information is provided). The museum part of the place is a bit amateurish and underfunded.

Hurrah is a place where children who love theater thrive.
The oppotunity to take such a wide range of developmental classwork for one price is amazing. The performance directors are fair, and provide constructive ways of growing in their role, and to the next level of performance in general.
I have been so impressed with the staff who pour their knowledge and love for theater into the children- its no wonder their roster of those 'who made it' is as long as it is!

My daughter attended summer camp with Hurrah Players and had a blast learning about musical theatre! The staff and students were so friendly and welcoming! She was excited to go every day and came home singing and dancing to the songs she learned!
My 8yo enjoyed theater camp at Hurrah. She learned all parts of theater and production. The staff were warm and friendly and the whole place welcoming. She looked forward to going every day and made friends while there
We were very happy with the level of organization and quality of instruction and production at camp. My 11 year old was eager to go and improved his theater skills, continuing his passion. And it's a great value! Highly recommend.
The production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical was an entertaining and delightful experience. The talented cast did a wonderful job, and meeting them afterwards was a treat. As fans of the book and the original cast recording, we thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Hurrah players did an outstanding job!!! The lightning Thief the musical was amazing!!!! Absolutely love going to see the shows they put on they never dissapoint!!!!10/10 recommend.
Excellent inclusive musical theater program for kiddos with special needs!! We are so grateful this program exists!

Bringing my daughter from a dance background to try other interests she had was a great move to make. She has enjoyed every part of it and being able to shine on stage in a completely different new way! The staff is so welcoming and comforting and always there for them to encourage their growth!!

We had an amazing experience renting from the new Hurrah Players TV and Film Academy! The space was very professionally set up, well stocked and added bonus everything we needed was all on one floor! This made our production process run smoothly and had us comfortably set up in one place! We greatly appreciated getting to use such a great space for our TV show in development! The crew was phenomenal to work with and the space was just perfect! The area was safe, secure and very conveniently located. Michael was incredible to work with and we will definitely be utilizing them again! Thank you all so much! Our talent and staff had a great time!
On a separate note, this space being available for local students with interest in theatre and film is an incredible opportunity! So much thought was put into this space and into helping expand the skills and talent of Hampton Roads! This will be a strong addition to the community and will promote incredible opportunities!

My daughter (12) loved attending the Hurrah Teen summer camp this past summer! They used classes & activities to teach the kids about musical theatre and productions. She really genuinely enjoyed herself and even though it’s a little more expensive than most camps, it was totally worth every penny. The campers learned SO MUCH in two weeks and the final show that the kids put on for parents/familys/friends was really good!! Hands down recommend this camp for any kiddos interested in musical theatre and/or acting!
My son attended a recent camp at The Hurrah Players and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. He made a ton of new friends and got a chance to try out a bunch of stuff he would've never known he enjoyed it it wasn't for camp. Hugh Copeland is a local treasure! Thank you for putting together such an awesome group of employees and volunteers. We will definitely be back!
We love the Hurrah Players. My girls have gained so much experience and built amazing friendships and connections that have allowed them to be professional working actors and develop a passion for something at such a young age.
am delighted with the experience my child had at The Hurrah Players camp over the past two weeks. It was evident that the camp provided an engaging and enjoyable environment for learning and growth. The passion for music and singing cultivated there was palpable and brought home each day.
