The Hampton Roads Chess Association (HRCA) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing the benefits of chess to people of all ages and abilities across our region. Serving youth and adult competitive chess players, schools, the handicapped, the elderly, veterans, and Scouts. Ongoing chess programs, instruction, groups and Summer camps available.

This group is for homeschool military families stationed at Joint Base Langley Eustis or surrounding areas. This group is to be used for support, sharing of ideas, planning activities, and encouragement.
The Literacy Lab’s Leading Men Fellowship creates opportunities for young men of color and increases representation in the field of education. Leading Men Fellows are young men of color who have recently graduated from high school and participate in a year-long, residency-style experience in which they provide evidence-based literacy support to pre-kindergarten students while receiving robust coaching and professional development and gaining valuable experience.

Montessori in Nature is an inclusive outdoor playgroup & co-op inspired by the Montessori philosophy, Forrest school, and respectful parenting. They meet outdoors on Mondays at 10:30am as well as one Saturday a month. They also occasionally have field trips and park play dates on Fridays. This group is designed for ages birth- six but siblings are welcome. They hold play-date meet-ups, hikes, and various nature adventures on and around the peninsula.
