YVCHR Volunteer Project – Fresh Food Wednesday at The Gathering at Scott Memorial UMC (Virginia Beach)

Youth will be helping to distribute groceries to those experiencing food insecurity in the local neighborhood. Youth will be helping with placing food boxes and bags into parked vehicles, traffic direction, data intake and greeting. Afterward, youth will help to clean up the space.
Youth needed: 15
Special Considerations: Dress in weather-appropriate clothing (this is a rain-or-shine event).
Organization being served: The Gathering at Scott Memorial Church’s Fresh Food Wednesday is the only fresh food pantry in the Virginia Beach area that is open to the public after working hours. They serve the working poor and are helping an average of 400 households per week.
