We Love Wildlife at Newport News Park (Newport News)

As the February 14th Valentine’s Day holiday approaches each year, our thoughts turn to showing appreciation for the people that we love. It’s also the time of year that many wild animals are hard at work taking care of their families, or getting ready to begin new ones. Many animal parents have already built cozy nests or dens to raise their young, while others are busy practicing their courtship dances or songs for their special someone.
Despite the chilly weather, there is still a lot going on with our wildlife neighbors – so be sure to stop by the Discovery Center this Valentine’s Day Weekend to share the love and appreciation of some of our native species!
Join us on Saturday, February 14th at 11 AM and 2 PM for our ‘We Love Wildlife’ educational program. This program will take place at the Discovery Center in Newport News Park.
Discovery Center – From the Newport News Park main entrance, proceed 1 mile on Constitution Ave; the Discovery Center and parking lot is on the right – look for the Civil War canon! For more information about this program, please call the Discovery Center at (757) 886-7916.
