Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party (Virginia Beach)

August 23, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm

IMPORTANT UPDATE!
Due to the impact of Hurricane Erin and the expected major storm surge in Virginia Beach on Thursday evening, all preparations for the Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party on the sand – including stage buildout – have been paused until the storm passes.

As a result, Friday, August 22 performances will be relocated to alternate venues. Saturday, August 23 performances will take place as planned on the beach, with crews beginning stage construction Friday morning.

For 15 years, the Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party has brought the funk to the Oceanfront with two days of electrifying music, delectable food, and a diverse array of vendors.

The heartbeat of the festival is its music, echoing across the beach at 30th Street Friday and Saturday, August 22-23.

Rooted in R&B, jazz, gospel, and blues, funk is a genre that has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Influential artists like James Brown and George Clinton, the leader of Parliament-Funkadelic, have inspired countless musicians and played pivotal roles in the evolution of other genres such as disco and hip hop.
