The Secret Music: the art of virtuosity in late 16th-century Ferrara (Norfolk)

Norfolk Chamber Consort opens its 57th season on October 6 at the gorgeous sanctuary of Christ and St. Luke’s Church in Norfolk. The program is entitled “The Secret Music: the art of virtuosity in late 16th-century Ferrara,” featuring music written for and inspired by the concerto delle donne, a trio of highly skilled professional female singer-instrumentalists, whose skill and virtuosity revolutionized the role of women in professional music in the late Renaissance. The program includes music by Luzzaschi, Andrea Gabrieli, Frescobaldi, and others.

The program commences at 7:30 PM, with a pre-concert discussion starting commences 7:15 PM. Student admission is free.
