“The Art of Water” by Michael Kunzinger at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts Art Gallery (Virginia Beach)

The next Sandler Center for the Performing Arts Art Gallery exhibition highlights a series of photographs capturing reflections of water, reminiscent of abstract art, created by angles of light, water texture, and other natural factors.
Michael Kunzinger, an art and travel photographer based in the Middle Peninsula region of Virginia, presents “The Art of Water,” a photography exhibition which invites viewers to view nature’s documentary, and challenges the divide between what is real and abstract.
“The Art of Water” will be on view Jan. 7 – March 30, whenever the Sandler Center box office is open, as well as to event ticketholders during Sandler Center events.
The Sandler Center and Sandler Center Foundation will host a free, public opening reception for this exhibition, 6-8 p.m., Jan. 12. The Sandler Center Foundation requests those planning to attend please RSVP online in advance of the reception.
The artist took up photography as a teenager on Virginia’s Middle Peninsula, drawing inspiration for his work from the waters of his home area. His work explores art in nature, with emphasis on that created by water. He has been featured in numerous shows, exhibits, and publications, including the Quick Center for the Arts, Muscarelle Museum of Art, and others.
