Struggles in the Sand at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge (Virginia Beach)

The life of a sea turtle begins with a struggle in the sand. Come learn what challenges baby sea turtles, or hatchlings, must overcome ot reach their ocean home. We will also share any updates about sea turtle nesting on Virginia Beach’s coastline! This program is approximately one hour in length and takes place inside the Visitor Center of Back Bay NWR.
There is no charge for this program but there is a $5.00/vehicle entrance fee to the wildlife refuge. The entrance fee is waived with a Back Bay NWR Annual Pass, an America the Beautiful Pass or a federal Duck Stamp.
