Saturday “Sun” Day at Elizabeth River Park near Osprey Shelter (Chesapeake)

Come join the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers (BBAA) for our monthly public solar viewing event! This event is one of the few ways to safely view oure closest star! We will have the equipment to allow safe, enjoyable solar viewing using specially designed solar filters and purpose built Hydrogen-Alpha Solar Telescopes. Sunspots, prominences, and flares – oh my!
This is also a great opportunity to bring your regular telescope for review, collimation, or other purposes to have one of our astronomers help you if you have questions – but don’t point it at the Sun unless you have the right filters!
Presenters – Plan on set up 30 minutes before event start time (9:30 AM).
