Public Tour – Shifting Sands at Fort Monroe (Hampton)

July 31 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This tour explores the pre-revolutionary history of Point Comfort and highlights its importance due to its proximity to the waterways. Participants will hear about Indigenous use of the land, the first fortifications and role in colonial trade, culminating in the stories of early freedom seekers. The tour begins at the Visitor & Education Center and participants will travel on a short path to the inner fort, experience the sights atop the rampart and finish with a guided tour through the Casemate Museum.

Every Friday at 1pm through Labor Day Weekend
