Portsmouth Public Schools Celebrate Black History Month – Performing Arts Showcases (Portsmouth)

February 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

This Black History Month, the stages, classrooms, and rehearsal rooms across Portsmouth are alive with more than music, dance, and theatre — they are alive with legacy.
Our students don’t just learn notes, steps, and lines. They inherit a story. A story of rhythm born from resilience, melodies shaped by perseverance, and movement rooted in culture, courage, and creativity.
Through the Performing Arts, they discover that Black history is not only something to study — it is something to hear, to see, to feel, and to perform.
This month, Portsmouth Public Schools Performing Arts celebrates the past, empowers the present, and inspires the future… one voice, one instrument, one stage at a time.
Learn. Perform. Inspire.
