Painting Nature at Kempsville Area Library (Virginia Beach)
December 18, 2025 @ 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm
Let your seeds of creativity bloom as you paint flowers, plants, insects, or other elements from nature. Guided by Arts for Learnings Asiko-oluwa Aderin, no prior experience is necessary! Ages 12-18. Registration is required.
Asiko-oluwa Aderin is a visual artist who earned her Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design from Norfolk State University. She was the first artist to graduate from our Emerging Teaching Artist program to become a Teaching Artist on the Arts for Learning Virginia roster. As a multimedia artist, Asiko describes her art in this way: My works reflect issues of identify and my efforts to curate a unique definition of blackness that fits my experience. To do this, I use symbols and linework inspired by West African writing systems and media such as printmaking and ceramics.
This program is presented by Arts for Learning Virginia and supported in part by an award from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission, Helen G. Gifford Foundation, TowneBank Foundation, PRA Group, and Arts Alliance.
