This no-school-day experience begins with a brief, age-appropriate introduction to Dr. King’s life and legacy, highlighting themes of equality, kindness, courage, and the power of dreaming. Through guided discussion and hands-on art-making, children will reflect on their own hopes and dreams for the world.
Using color, collage, and mixed-media materials, students will create artwork inspired by their personal vision of a more just, caring, and connected community. This workshop encourages self-expression, empathy, and creativity in a supportive studio environment.
