Kindergarten Gear Up at Kempsville Area Library (Virginia Beach)

Kindergarten Gear Up is a six-week library program that helps preschoolers develop key social and academic skills for a confident transition to Kindergarten. Through speaking, writing, reading, singing, and active play, children build independence while caregivers join separate sessions to learn how to support their childs readiness and their advocacy. For children ages four or five who are entering Kindergarten in August 2027. Registration is required.
Note: For the best experience, children should meet the age requirement, caregivers should understand the programs goals, and participants including caregiver should attend all six sessions. Attendance at the information session is highly encouraged to answer questions before committing to the series.
