Junior Farmer Club (Chesapeake)

September 28, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Junior Farmers Club at Melanin Meadows is a drop-off workshop series for kids ages 4 and up. Every Sunday, children learn by doing—caring for animals, tending the land, and exploring nature. We blend hands-on farm fun with early reading, writing, math, and social-emotional skills to help kids thrive in a fast-paced world.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful Sunday morning or a rich learning experience for your child, our workshops offer connection, confidence, and calm.

Parents are welcome to stay and participate as well!

What to Bring:

  • A labeled water bottle
  • A small snack (nut-free preferred)
  • Sunscreen and bug spray applied before arrival
  • A small backpack if your child likes to carry their own items
  • Optional: journal or sketchbook

Dress for the farm:

  • Comfortable clothes that can get dirty
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots (no sandals or crocs)
  • Hat or sun protection
  • Weather-appropriate layers—we’ll be outside rain or shine

Please label all items with your child’s name. We’ll be moving, exploring, and playing—so we encourage clothes that allow for freedom and fun!

What to Expect: Each Junior Farmers workshop begins with a grounding activity to help kids settle into the space and feel connected to nature. Throughout the morning, children will meet and care for animals, explore the land, and engage in hands-on activities that support emotional awareness, empathy, and confidence.

We end the workshop with quiet reflection and a creative activity to help children process what they learned and how they felt.

Workshops run from 8:00 to 11:00 AM and are designed to be calm, joyful, and enriching.
