Independence Day at the Waterways Museum (Chesapeake)

Join us on Friday July 4, 2025 from 10am-4pm to celebrate our country’s independence. The day will be filled with fun activities for all ages. Celebrate America’s Independence with crafts and a reading of the Declaration of Independence!
- Reading of the Declaration of Independence: 11am, 1pm, & 3pm
- Chesapeake Fireboat at Battlefield Park Dock: 11am-1pm
- Brethren of the Coast (Maritime History)
- Youth Virginia Regiment Musket Demonstration: 12pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, & 3:30pm
- Butterfly Gardening Activities
- Reenactors, Green Screen Photos, and more
All activities will be included with regular museum admission.
Children 5 years old and younger receive free admission.
