The I AM WHAT I AM: Newport News Pride Festival is more than an event — it’s a bold, beautiful, joy-packed tribute to love, identity, community, and pride.
This is the official Newport News Pride Weekend Kickoff, and it’s going to be one of the biggest, loudest, most love-filled days of the summer.
Expect a full-day experience with:
• Live music that will move your soul
• Drag kings and queens turning up the stage
• A dance party that doesn’t quit
• Local vendors with art, gear, and everything in between
• Craft beer flowing from Tradition Brewing
• Food trucks to keep you fueled
• LGBTQIAP+ resources and organizations ready to connect

PLUS: Mayor Jones will make the official Proclamation of Pride Month — a moment of visibility, celebration, and power for the LGBTQIAP+ community and allies in our city.This year’s lineup includes:

• Vivian Deveroux Valentine
• U.B.U. – bringing the rock
• DJ Anelz – setting the vibe and keeping the dance floor alive
