Homeschool Day at Military Aviation Museum: Early Aviation Pioneers (Virginia Beach)

Explorers of the Skies: Early Aviation Pioneers:Who were the first notable people to fly airplanes, set a distance record, or build a jet plane? In this exciting session that combines STEM exploration and history, students will explore the contributions made in aviation from the beginning of flight to breaking barriers. With hands-on activities like building gliders or designing aircraft, guided reading and research, and interpretive storytelling, students will be transported to the early days of flight and bring history to life!
Highlights:
Explore the lives and achievements of the Wright Brothers, Bessie Coleman, Jackie Cochran, and more
Design and test paper gliders and model aircraft
Lean to plan a flight like the early aviators
Homeschool Days are drop-off programs, from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Pre-registration is required and attendance is capped at 15 participants. Lunch is not provided, and we do ask that all students be dropped off with a packed lunch. There is no on-site café option at the Museum. Space is Limited – Register Here!
