History, HeArt and Harmonies: Engaging in History and Art Through Song at Jamestown Settlement (Jamestown)

Join us as Jamestown Settlement honors the legacy of the first recorded Africans brought to Virginia in 1619 with reflections of history and modern perspectives through an African American lens.
History, HeArt, and Harmonies is an interactive workshop that invites participants to explore museum exhibits—whether art, artifacts, or historical displays—and translate their experience into music.
Guided through creative prompts and songwriting techniques by musician Roberta Lea, participants will reflect on the stories and emotions within the exhibits and shape them into original songs.
This program blends history, art and music to foster creativity, deepen engagement with culture, and give voice to personal interpretations of the past.
All ages welcome. Tickets are $10 per person.
