Focus Tours at Thoroughgood House: 18th Century Literature (Virginia Beach)

$5While our daily tours give visitors a good overview of life on the Thoroughgood property, our weekly summer Focus Tours provide a deeper dive into specific areas of interest. Please click on the individual tour titles below for a detailed description of that week’s offering.
All 2026 Focus Tours are $5 per person. All tours will take place at the Thoroughgood House: 1636 Parish Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455
Advanced registration is highly encouraged but walkups are welcome! Tours run every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour.
7/9: The 18th century wasn’t all colonizing and revolution. It was also a time for great writers. Come learn about some of these authors and hear excerpts from their best works. Make your own “stained glass” bookmark and enjoy some 18th Century Mad Libs.
