Finnegan’s Wake (Chesapeake)

March 7 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

You may think a “wake” sounds sad but it is actually a huge party for those who are familiar with the Irish-American ballad “Finnegan’s Wake” which is a comedic folk song about Tim Finnegan, a hard-drinking hod-carrier who falls from a ladder and dies. During his wake, a rowdy fight breaks out, and whiskey spills on his body, causing him to resurrect and join the party.

There will be performances by the award-winning Irish Dancers from Rhodes Academy of Irish Dance and Siren City Pipe Band (bagpipes), raffles, silent auction, Ceili dancing, beer/whisky/food for purchase, and the option to purchase traditional corned beef and cabbage with your ticket.

Tickets are $35 for adults and free for kids without meal.
