Creative Clay Workshop at Starving Artist Studio (Newport News)

Come create a masterpiece with clay! From bowls, to figurines, to earrings!
This workshop is for intermediate to advanced artists who have worked with clay before and want to have free use of clay without a designated project design. This is a hand-building workshop that includes the use of our tools and stamps, we will not have a wheel available.
Artists will have two hours to create anything they desire within the size of a 6″x6″ tile per 1lb of clay, no taller than 6″. We will have a workshop host who can help you if needed and give guidance.
This workshop is $35 for 1lb of earthenware clay with a non-refundable $10 deposit that goes towards the price of the workshop. Includes: 1lb clay, tools, stamps, and first firing (no glaze). Additional clay can be bought day of if desired. The drying and firing process will take 1-2 weeks and you will be called when they are out of the kiln. The pieces can then be taken home and painted with acrylics (not provided) or you can choose to pay an additional fee of $10 to use our regular pottery paints and have your piece fired again.
We cannot guarantee the integrity of the piece after firing due to variations in creative styles and artist techniques.
