Composting at Home: Getting Started in Any Space at 757 Creative Reuse Center (Norfolk)

Curious about composting but not sure where to begin? This workshop will walk through practical, approachable ways to compost at home whether you have a backyard, small patio, or apartment kitchen. We will cover basic compost science, simple bin setups, common mistakes, odor control, and how to keep your system balanced.
Participants will receive a starter carbon source and materials for a simple two-bin system to take home, making it easy to begin composting right away. You will leave with both the knowledge and tools to start a compost system that fits your space and lifestyle.
NOTE: Reduced price member tickets are for folks with a monthly or yearly subscription membership to the 757 Creative ReUse Center. If you’d like to start your membership online, click here. You can also start your membership in store. If you do not have a subscription membership, please choose the General Admission ticket. If you reserve a reduced ticket without a membership, your reservation will be canceled, or you will be asked to pay the difference in ticket price when you come in for class.

We all put a lot of time and effort into creating these classes for you and cultivating an enjoyable and fun learning experience. With that in mind these classes are most suited for groups so we encurange you to register with a friend, or a few! A class minimum of 2 is required. Any classes with only one registered participant will be cancled 24-hours before the class. Refunds will be issued and you will be contacted by email and phone.
Please include a phone number along with your email, so we have your contact information in the event a class must be rescheduled or cancled.
Folks who miss multiple classes without notice will be prevented from registering for future classes. If you are not able to attend a class you have registered for please call us and let us know.
