Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic (Virginia Beach)

The 23rd Annual Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic, presented by Katin, is on May 23-25 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, featuring a World Surf League (WSL) LQS1000 longboard competition, surf art expo, and a 5K race. This premier event marks the North America regional longboard season conclusion, with surfing occurring near 1st-7th Streets.
2026 Key Events & Schedule
- Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic Surfing (WSL): May 23–25, 2026. Includes LQS1000 longboard and professional surf action.
- Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic 5K: Sunday, May 24, 2026, 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM EDT. Starts on the boardwalk at 2nd Street.
- Packet Pickup: Friday, May 23, 5 PM – 7 PM (at Coastal Edge, 316 21st St) or race morning, 6 AM – 6:30 AM.
- Virginia Beach Surf Art Expo: May 23–25, 2026, at 3rd–7th Streets on the Boardwalk. Features 80+ artists.
