Beginner Pastels with Shirley Lu (Virginia Beach)

Class Description:
In this class, you will learn the difference between hard, medium and soft pastel, as well the pan pastel and pastel pencils. I will also talk about layout, base coat and studio set up. There will be a few different types of paper for you to try in class and take home.
What you will need for class:
If you don’t have any pastel, the most inexpensive and student level quality is Paul Ruben soft pastel in 48 colors ($20) Maimoufin soft pastel in 48 colors ($37) on Amazon. Please DO NOT purchase SoHo by Jerry’s Artorama and Artist Loft by Michael’s as they are low quality and hard, even though they are labeled as soft pastel.
