Atlantic Park Surfboard Tree Display (Virginia Beach)
December 6, 2025 - January 5, 2026
In November 2025, the ViBe Creative District teamed up Atlantic Park to feature ViBe artists, students from VBSchools National Art Honor Society clubs and local creatives to hand paint surf boards for a 30 foot surfboard tree public art display. Viewable from 19th and Baltic Ave, this tree sits at the connection between the ViBe Creative District and the Atlantic Park complex borders–blending old and new with a creative and funky project.
ViBe Muralists Tessa Hall Duquette (ViBe Mural Festival), Jeff Tarkenton (ViBe Mural Festival), Cameron Clark (VB Street Art Festival) and Jaida Garrison (ViBe Check muralist) painted boards next to students and teachers from First Colonial and Salem HS Gifted Arts program. Special thanks to VBSchools teachers Devon Miller, Carlie Kinzey and Melissa Schappell for partnering with ViBe. Several boards were also painted by members of the Atlantic Park Surf family.
The surfboard tree will be on display Nov 24, 2025 – Jan 5, 2026
