Hampton City Schools Visual and Performing Arts Department presents the FREE series in conjunction with Arts for Learning, the Virginia Affiliate of Young Audiences.
You are invited to interact with musicians, artists, actors, storytellers, dancers, and more. Each hour has new programming! With the support of the Hampton History Museum, the event will be held on this one Saturday in July. Learn more: Splash of the Arts!
Artist: Atumpan The Talking Drums | Program: The Djembe Speaks-Rhythm & Roots

A dynamic fusion of culture, music, and real-world food education! Arts for Learning Virginia’s Atumpan The Talking Drums ignites the stage with drumming and masterful storytelling, bringing West African agricultural traditions to life while celebrating the powerful connection between music, culture, and the foods that nourish us.

Led by nationally renowned artist, Nfon Asuqo, with a background in clothing design, painting, and graphic design, participants will leave this session with take-away art products based on a one-of-a-kind theme just for A Splash of the Arts!
