A Seat Of Justice: The Courthouse That Shaped Portsmouth at Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center (Portsmouth)
February 17 - November 15
This compelling exhibition explores the history of the Norfolk County Courthouse (now the Portsmouth Art & Cultural center) and its powerful role in shaping law, justice and memory in the region. Through seven pivotal cases and crimes, visitors examine how the legal system has affected lives – from witch trials and slavery to modern struggles for equity. The exhibit also confronts the legacy and controversy of Confederate monuments, inviting reflection on how justice has been exercised, challenged and remembered over time.
