2026 Back-to-School Care Fair (Virginia Beach)

The 2026 Back-to-School Care Fair, hosted by Virginia Beach City Public Schools, takes place on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Virginia Beach Convention Center (1000 19th St). Families can connect with more than 100 community organizations and VBCPS departments while accessing free resources, including backpacks and school supplies, required vaccines and school entry physicals, vision screenings, headphones or earbuds, student haircuts, and more.
- School Supplies: Backpacks and school supplies are typically provided for free for thousands of attending students while supplies last.
- Health Services: Local health providers and nurses offer back-to-school physicals and required immunizations.
- Free Haircuts: Volunteer stylists and local barber academies partner to provide free student haircuts during the fair.
- Transportation: VBCPS usually coordinates free or discounted bus transportation to and from the convention center for several communities across the city.
