Local Program in Hampton Roads: Dads & Doulas

What a great program to support new and expecting Fathers, and Father Figures in Hampton Roads!

When: The second Saturday of each month from 11am – 12:30pm

Where: The UP Center 1805 Airline Blvd Portsmouth, VA 23707

Cost: The Dads & Doulas group is free and open to all new or expecting fathers living in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, or Virginia Beach.

About the program: We are excited to present Dads & Doulas: Session Two. Through The UP Center, Deb The Doula and I have committed ourselves to the mission of helping new and expecting dads navigate childbirth & fatherhood on the second Saturday of each month. As a result of our partnership with the fathers in Hampton Roads, we aim to improve the overall health of the family unit and improve both Maternal and Child Health Outcomes in our community.

Group meetings will provide education, resource connections, and support to both fathers and father figures. A biological connection to the child is not a requirement for services. If a father or father figure is supporting a pregnant woman during her pregnancy, or the mother and infant after birth, they can participate. Teen fathers are also encouraged to attend!
