The Annual LEGO Shipbuilding Event!

HRNM Brick by Brick LEGO Shipbuilding

It is back for 2026! The Hampton Roads Naval Museum’s annual Brick by Brick: Lego Shipbuilding event returns to Virginia Beach again in the new year, and as always is completely FREE!

It is also a great way to inspire some creative building! If your active child/family is interested in the competition portion of the event, it would be a great project to work on during colder days/winter break – especially if you have a lot of new LEGO in your house post-holidays.

Where:  Virginia Beach Sports Center, 1045 19th Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451 (next to the Virginia Beach Convention Center)

When:  Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10am to 4pm

Cost: FREE! Please register on this link.

Description: Join The Hampton Roads Naval Museum in Partnership with Navy League Hampton Roads and Brickinbad Virginia Beach for a fun-filled day of creativity and imagination at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Let your inner builder shine as you construct your very own LEGO ship masterpiece. This in-person event is perfect for LEGO enthusiasts of all ages. Get ready to set sail on a sea of bricks and build memories that will last a lifetime. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to showcase your building skills and connect with other LEGO lovers. See you there!

Note: If participating in the shipbuilding contest (Build-at-home or Build-onsite), your ship must be completed and registered by 2pm on January 31st. Age categories are 0-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-15, 16+. Winners will be announced by 3:30pm.
