Ready. Set. Resource! (Suffolk)

August 19, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Infant & Toddler Connection (ITC) of Portsmouth and Children’s Therapy Concepts (CTC)  hosts  a community resource event in the fall for local residents.  The Children’s Therapy Concepts Family & Community Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11:00AM-3:00PM at Bennett’s Creek Park in Suffolk, VA. The intent of the event  is to bring awareness of local resources for families to the Hampton Roads community. The event is free and open to the public.

Invited to attend the event are area businesses, nonprofits and health care companies that offer specific services and recreation opportunities to families. Organizations attending will have representatives on-site to interact with visitors and discuss their organizations offerings.  Each organization will provide a unique craft or activity to offer event guests.

Each organization offers a unique craft or activity for our guests for some hands-on fun. Added to the event this year is a Back to School Supplies Drive. Organizations attending and the local community are encouraged to donate school supplies the day of the event and CTC/ITC will distribute to guests in need of those supplies.

The day will include food trucks on site for visitors to purchase refreshments.

The Infant & Toddler Connection of Portsmouth, managed by Children’s Therapy Concepts, LLC is a part of the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia.  ITC is Virginia’s early intervention system for infants and toddlers (age 0-36 months) with disabilities and their families. Any infant or toddler in Virginia who isn’t developing as expected or who has a medical condition that can delay typical development is eligible to receive early intervention support and services under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Early intervention support and services focus on increasing the child’s participation in family and community activities that are important to the family. In addition, support and services focus on helping parents and other caregivers know how to find ways to help their children learn during everyday activities. The Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia’s supports and services are available to all eligible children and their families regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Contact our ITC Service Coordinators for more information on the event at 757.776.3088 or Dawn Evans, Marketing & Communications Director at 757-870-8000.
